Dentures in Hatfield

Improve the appearance of your smile

Dentures are removable false teeth which can be worn to improve the aesthetic appearance of your smile after tooth loss.

Dentures are made to closely resemble your natural teeth, making your smile appear natural and healthy.

There are different Dentures available to replace missing teeth:

  • Full Dentures – which are used to replace a full set of teeth at the top or bottom
  • Partial Dentures – which are used to replace just a few missing teeth
  • Acrylic Dentures – which are made entirely of acrylic and gain suppot from the gums
  • Cobalt Chrome Dentures – which are made of cobalt chrome and acrylic. They are thinner and usually gain support and retention from the remaining teeth rather than the gums

If you lose a tooth/teeth, problems will occur that you may not have considered. The teeth infront or behind may move/drift into the gap. The opposing tooth which is no longer biting on anything may grow up/down (over- erupt) into the gap.

These changes can have severe adverse effects on your bite and joints of the jaw. This in turn can make it more difficult for your dentist to rectify at a later date. Additionally, your remaining teeth will be more likely to fail due to the increased strain on them.

While all dentures take some getting used to, the dentures of today have come a long way. They look just like your natural teeth and are much more comfortable. At Distinctly Dental we understand that you will be wearing your dentures for the majority of the day and that it is essential that they do not irritate your gums. Our team will work with you to ensure your dentures are the correct fit.

There are different options to replace missing teeth and you may also want to consider dental implants or a dental bridge.
